Montreal (Canada) – The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) is pleased to welcome BMW as a 2016 World Design Partner® – a strategic partnership initiative established to support Icsid’s international programming, including World Design Capital® (WDC).
BMW, the 2016 Supporting Partner, has been given the title of Official World Design Partner® and the WDC Taipei 2016 branding, visibility and promotional opportunities, recognition at and VIP invitations to Icsid and/or WDC Taipei 2016 events. In addition, an indoor auto display and VIP shuttle service will be organised by BMW Taiwan Importer, Pan German Motors Ltd, exclusively for the WDC Taipei 2016 International Design House Exhibition from 13 to 30 October 2016.
“We are delighted to welcome back BMW as a World Design Partner. They are a renowned design-led company that prides itself on its commitment to social responsibility," said Icsid President Mugendi M’Rithaa.
As an Icsid member and partner to both the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 and World Design Capital Cape Town 2014, BMW Group is pleased to continue their partnership with Icsid through its BMW Taiwan Importer, Pan German Motors Ltd, this year.
In WDC Cape Town 2014, BMW (South Africa) provided a fleet of vehicles for use by the Cape Town design team and Icsid VIPs. BMW also produced an outdoor display of its two zero emission vehicles, the BMW i3 and i8, which represent the future of environmentally friendly transportation. www.bmw.co.za
