According to a UN estimate, 9.7 billion people will become urbanized by the year 2050, which will come with the associated foreseeable challenges. With that in mind, we will invite cities across the world to take part in this exhibition, to showcase the influence of design on urban life and real life examples of solutions to social problems. In addition, the underpinnings of design process and practice will be used to vividly recount how Taipei as a city has developed.
World Design Capital Taipei 2016 International Design House Exhibition Exhibition Participation Procedures
2016 will see Taipei as the host city for the World Design Capital. In the series of official activities to be held throughout the year, the “International Design House Exhibition” will be the key event for international exchange, as well as being the show venue for global design. By inviting a multitude of international cities to curate their exhibits in Taipei, we aim to enable internationally acclaimed design communities / teams to showcase their city’s best designs.
This exhibition will also provide the opportunity for designers to share their ideas, creativity, and professional experience, promoting global design to attract local and international visitors.
