This exhibition starts with “city life” to highlight contemporary visual art and cross-border cooperation. Inviting artists around the world, the exhibition is classified into thematic contents, crossover collaborations, and international artists collective. Through this exhibition, we can familiarize ourselves with Taipei in a new way through international perspectives.

This exhibition, combining issues regarding urban life and social design, examines the four issues faced by global cities through design thinking: Life Quality and Health, Ecological Sustainability, Smart Living, and Urban Regeneration. Previous WDC cities and those developing the future through design are invited to join the event to share cases of social problems solved through design and the trends of mobilizing urban development through design.

Renowned Taiwanese contemporary calligraphic artist Tong Yang-Tze will present From Ink to Apparel: A Crossover between Calligraphy Art and Fashion Design.

Yang-Tze Tong believes that a city has a responsibility to continually enhance its cultural and aesthetic standing and, to this end, hopes to use the art of calligraphy to realize life’s possibilities. For this exhibition, Tong has chosen 20 pieces from her “Silent Music” series. Working hand-in-hand with fashion designers, she imbues the exhibition with her calligraphy’s energy, rhythm and attitude.
