World Design Capital Taipei 2016 International Design House Exhibition Exhibition Participation Procedures_Open For Rigisteration
World Design Capital (WDC) is a global event initiated by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid). Cities awarded the designation “World Design Capital” have all experimented in using design thinking to put forward praiseworthy solutions to resolve major development issues, and in applying innovative and creative approaches to pursue a vision for urban development. Past cities to hold the WDC title include Torino (Italy) in 2008, Seoul (South Korea) in 2010, Helsinki (Finland) in 2012, and Cape Town (South Africa) 2014. Mexico City has been named WDC 2018.
The 2016 International Design House Exhibition is a WDC Taipei 2016 Signature Event. The International Design House Exhibition will be an important event for international exchange, as well as a platform for global design. By inviting leading cities to curate spaces in Taipei, we aim to enable internationally acclaimed design communities/teams to showcase their best designs. This exhibition will also provide the opportunity for designers to share their ideas, creativity, and professional experience, promoting global design to attract local and international visitors.
